Director of Maintenance – Full Time

Air New England, a Part 135 operator based at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is looking for a Director of Maintenance to oversee the mechanical condition and regulatory compliance of its growing fleet of piston, turbine and jet equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities (but are not strictly limited to);

  • Regular reviews of aircraft logs and time/cycles to ensure compliance with inspection schedules, AD/SB.
    Routine aircraft logbook audits.
  • Regular and frequent communications with ANE Operations to ensure that the scheduling of routine aircraft maintenance events will not negatively impact fleet availability and result in unnecessary aircraft down-time.
  • Launching and recovering the aircraft for revenue and training flights and debriefing crew on aircraft condition and performance.
  • Regularly and frequently updating aircraft times and cycles in maintenance tracking software.
    The accomplishing of regular aircraft in-service and/or postflight checklists in order to prevent or correct mechanical discrepancies that can otherwise cause delays and AOG events.
  • Respond to AOG events and effect return to service procedures and effectively act in the capacity of
  • Maintenance Control and where practical, respond directly as a technician to effect return to service for AOG events.
  • Develop a contact list of maintenance providers in the region to respond to AOG events.
    Auditing of outside maintenance providers for scheduled and AOG events.
  • Oversee program/scheduled maintenance provided by third parties.
  • Ensure that aircraft are clean and presentable including routine cleaning and disinfecting of the
    aircraft interior.
  • The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a certificated A&P Technician.
    A thorough understanding of FARs and the ability to work directly and in close collaboration with the FAA.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Prior experience with Part 135 operation.
  • Experience with CAMP/Cescom and ATP.
  • A combination of turbine and reciprocating engine experience.
  • A high degree of computer literacy.
  • The ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Basic hand tools.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of personability.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • The ability to work directly with customers.

  • Have the fortitude to act in a safety sensitive capacity 
  • Other duties as assigned to conduct business.

Job Requirements:

  • Aviation experience is highly preferred but prior management experience will be considered
  • Customer driven, safety first mindset
  • Marketing and sales experience a strong plus 
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with the ability to develop a rapport with customers through all communication venues
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be willing to delegate or help with all job assignments no matter how menial (aircraft cleaning, shopping for snacks etc.)
  • Submit to an initial drug test along with random drug and alcohol testing in order to comply with safety and company guidelines
